Introduction: In 1999, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific defined child sexual abuse as: “Contact or interaction between a child and an older or more educated child or adult ( a stranger, a sibling, or a person in a position of authority, such as a parent or guardian) when the child is used as an object of gratification for the sexual needs of an older child or adult. These contacts or interactions are made against the child through the use of force, trickery, bribes, threats or pressure. 1Child sexual exploitation includes a variety of activities that include the exposure of minors (boys and girls) to adult sexual activities, paid in cash or in kind, on the street and indoors, or at pornography; It also includes the trafficking of minors for the purposes of the sex trade and the use of children in sexual shows, whether private or public. There are several international instruments dealing with the sexual exploitation and abuse of children; they have been recognized internationally by various instruments such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women in 1981; the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1990 and its Optional Protocol on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography in 2000; ILO Convention 182 of 1999, defining child prostitution and child pornography as one of the worst forms of child labor; the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime in 2000 with a special protocol to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons (especially women and children).
