When advertisements that sell a product to women focus on beauty or ease of use using terms such as clean, elegant lines, soft, makes life easier. This is because men are portrayed as masculine and responsible for outdoor chores like lawn care, while women are portrayed as delicate and weak and tend to handle daily household chores like cooking and cleaning . By analyzing the genders used in ads and roles, we found that women tended to go shopping and ask about products and men seemed bored and were there to pay the bill and be responsible of the assembly of the purchased product. The colors of the products sold also play an important role. Men seem to be more attracted to darker or brighter colors like black, red, green and blue, while products aimed at women are generally lighter or softer colors like white or pastels. We chose to analyze advertisements because we were able to focus our research on both what is said and what is shown. The salesperson basically has thirty seconds to get the viewer interested in a product and make them want to go out and buy it. They do everything possible to attract the buyer, keep them interested and sell that product. This made the search much easier to analyze because we were able to separate the ads. What did they do
