Essay / Gap Inc. - 2121
As a US citizen, you have definitely seen a store owned by Gap Inc., such as stores like Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, etc. These stores represent an ionic and proud American store since 1969 that has multiplied since the opening of their first store in San Francisco. It was the first of many stores that would open and take America by storm. Gap became an icon as it began to multiply with the creation of larger variety stores. Stores such as Old Navy carry the low-budget clothing for Gap as a mid-budget and then for Banana Republic which serves as a high-budget, high-profile Gap Inc. store. Gap Inc. To Don and Doris Fisher, opening the first store was about more than just selling jeans; it was about serving the people and gaining integrity. They also wanted to create a lasting impression on consumers. This became Gap Inc.'s mission statement and has stuck with them since their first store opened. Gap has expanded its products, from the jeans that Doris and Don couldn't fit and made to the countless clothing and accessories they offer. Creating a company like this with over 3,000 stores in 9 countries comes from a small seed and grows into a giant tree growing in all different directions and that's what Gap Inc. did. Anyone who has heard of or knows about Gap should understand how Gap became a multi-industry mega-corporation that took over the contemporary, affordable fashion industry. It's also become the new way to start a clothing line, taking a simple idea and turning it into a giant collaboration between multiple retailers. Now a reason like opening a store because you couldn't fit into jeans shows something. This shows the amount of ambition...... middle of paper...... of the new age. Works CitedCotton incorporated.
