That's when I am drawn to Lemony Snicket's delightful writing and the curses that filled my head fade into insignificant background noise, that I realized how important books really are to me. Something that allows me to leave situations I don't want to be a part of and have fun with characters that are better than people could ever be. Throughout my life I have relied on books to get me through difficult times that I don't even remember, which is why books are the only real lifeline I have ever experienced.
