  • Essay / Observation and summary of my visit to the Desert Botanical Garden and my trip to the Renaissance Festival

A while ago I went to the Desert Botanical Garden to check it out. At first I thought it was a real garden, with flowers, roses, etc. I was excited and disappointed when we went and there were no flowers. I should have had an idea, since the name was DESERT Botanical Garden, but it went over my head. But when we got there, it was actually quite nice. We left on a not too hot day and the monarch butterflies were still alive. We had little time to be there, so we decided to just visit the butterfly garden. We walked around trying to find the place, but got lost after walking around for almost ten minutes. We didn't realize the botanical garden was so huge, and it shocked us a little that one place could contain so many desert plants in one place. We went there back when they were displaying desert art, so we looked around as well. Eventually we reached the butterfly room, and it was really pretty. I have never seen so many butterflies in my entire life. Even though we only explored half of the garden, I think I enjoyed it. The plants there looked much prettier when they were grouped together rather than scattered like they are in neighborhoods. Say no to plagiarism. I'm also learning more about butterflies, but I think I already knew about them before and how they hatch and grow. I wanted to see a cacoon but as it was not the season, I couldn't do it. Although my first experience didn't do much for me, I think I appreciated the beauty of a desert more. Living in Arizona and seeing cacti so often makes me not appreciate the wildlife around me. But in my defense, I think when it's closer together, as it was in the garden, it's more spread out. While driving through Arizona, I see plants spread far apart. I really like how they tried to incorporate a natural setting, but I still feel like the garden is too controlled. A man had to walk around spraying water on the plants; it was a real desert then, the plants should have been able to survive with what the sun gave them. The Renaissance Festival During spring break, it was my first time going to the Renaissance Festival. I've heard good things about it and I've always wanted to go and discover it myself because I love old things. I've always said that if I had to live in the past, I would choose the Renaissance. Going there was really fun; it wasn't as expensive as people told me, but that's probably because I didn't have to pay for my own food. Their turkey leg was HUGE. I really enjoyed their concerts, but unfortunately I had to leave early because I had a schedule. But I got to ride a camel and that was pretty cool. I also wanted to ride an elephant, but I thought camels were more exotic. In my opinion the Renaissance Festival is just a fun festival to go to in the spring and everyone should go at least once in their life, however, I think the Renaissance Festival wastes a lot of time. energy. First of all, almost everyone buys a turkey leg; it's a must. This means that many turkeys are.
