  • Essay / The Copley YMCA - 1294

The Copley YMCA is an organization dedicated to "enhancing the quality of human life and helping all people realize their full potential as children of God through the development of mind, spirit and body” (NEED CITATION).The City Heights YMCA is conveniently located in the Landis Street community. It's made available to anyone who needs it, whether it's working out or playing hoops, the YMCA will be there for you in ways you never imagined. The YMCA has a long and significant history with people. and in many communities. They even have a catchy melody. The Y has thrived and provided assistance to many people over the past 160 years. For them, it is not a right, but a privilege to be able to serve individuals and communities across the United States. The Y is recognized as the nation's leading nonprofit group committed to helping people and communities learn, grow and thrive. Their contributions are considered both profound and intimate. The Y works to ensure everyone has the opportunity to be healthier, more confident, connected and safe. They achieve this by promoting the development of every child and adolescent, which then contributes to improving the health and well-being of the nation. Now I know the Y is more than just a place to work out, now I know. I pretty much learned how much more there is to offer at the Y, it was like getting a behind the scenes look at the Y. We were presented in a different light and shown more about the Y than this what I expected. I am grateful to have had this opportunity to volunteer for this great organization and work one-on-one with many amazing people. I really don't have any suggestions for a necessary change to the Y. I mean, it's great the way it is, you know what they say: "If it ain't broke, Don’t fix it.” I would suggest snacks for volunteers, but we had already been told that needed to be taken care of before arriving at the YM, so never mind. We must at least make serious suggestions 2-3
