  • Essay / Cubism - 1873

In 1907, Cubism was a new artistic movement created by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque who challenged traditional art by refusing the single point of view in their painting. The success they achieved was based on Picasso's first phase which he called Analytical Cubism and then developed the second phase – Synthetic Cubism. Since the workshops of Picasso and Braque, many different forms of Cubism were created and became something that changed the art world. This art movement formed as a new way of representing the world through the perspectives of different art movements. According to Portrayals (2007): “Cubism is the most radical, innovative and influential ism in 20th century art. It is a complete denial of the classic conception of beauty. Therefore, this essay will focus on the Cubism of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, to explain how they challenged the fundamental tenets of Renaissance art - the spatial illusionism of one-point perspective and the standard classic of the human figure. Additionally, discuss two phases of Cubism (analytical and synthetic), their styles and explain their different premises through significant works of Picasso and Braque. Cubism emerged when the artist wanted to find a new way to describe the natural world expressed as new, to help them think about things beyond the normal appearance of the material. Cubist painting abandoned most of the traditional notions of perspective, space and form. Usually we can only observe things from one perspective at the time we see them. However, the artist rediscovered his chosen objects from different angles at once. The appearance of the object is thus divided into several surfaces, zones and ...... middle of paper ...... that is, very close to abstraction. Certain letters have been introduced into the image to suggest the meaning of the image. In the second phase, synthetic cubism, the composition of the painting includes the details that pile up, this information is colored paint or paint on the canvas, it is more colorful. Unlike stereoscopic analysis, in which objects can be broken down into pieces, analysis can attempt to combine multiple objects to create new shapes. Picasso and Braque were the most talented artists of the 20th century. They died and left an immense artistic heritage to humanity, including sculptures, oil paintings, collages and installations, which can be found in the greatest museums around the world. This work proved very intense and creative throughout their lives and profoundly influenced generations of young artists..
