The diversity of the audience most certainly affects the quality of reception of each person's speech. This is why, when preparing a speech, it is important to develop and present your speech in a way that illustrates your thoughts and ideas while resonating with the audience. You would want to create an appropriate speech for the audience to ensure you keep their attention and focus. In this course, I learned a lot about how diversity affects a person's speech. I don't think I managed to completely address a very diverse audience, but watching many speeches by prominent speakers, I was able to see in detail how they articulated their speeches to a diverse audience. For example, for my persuasive speech, I presented on the topic of chess. I don't think everyone will enjoy this speech, but I tried to talk about it in a positive and fun way. One must be aware of all aspects of diversity when speaking to an audience, whether it is a small or a very large group. Understanding the needs of all genders, their ethnicity and other personal beliefs will make you a better and more respected.
