  • Essay / Talent and Skill Overview - 1001

Talent and Skill OverviewTalent and skill are often confused and confused in perceptions and conversations. They both relate to a person's ability to work and complete a specific task, although the difference between the two lies in the origin of this ability. Many believe that people are born with a certain talent and that only those selected individuals will succeed. However, this is not necessarily true, as the concept of talent should be open to different individual interpretations. No one is ever born a scientist, dancer, or teacher, but as individuals we can develop certain skills to fit into different categories. If talent is an undeniable asset for success among people who possess it, it is not fundamental to being considered as flourishing in certain contexts. Skills require determination and effort, and being available to everyone can be the winning key to achieving favorable results in life. What is talent? What is competence? What is talent? “Talent is a natural ability or skill” (World English Dictionary). Everyone has their own unique talent hidden within them, some people may be lucky enough to discover what their talent is during their journey, while others are not. In my opinion, everyone has a specific talent, but most individuals do not know or have not found their talents, or at least have difficulty describing them. Perhaps it is because talents are reflexive, that is to say they are unpredictable, they are like the air we breathe which leads us to take them for granted. People always say, “Oh, you were born to be a basketball player!” » but an individual is not born with a basketball in his hands, no one is ever born ready to accomplish a specific task although talent...... middle of paper ...... in conclusion, I believe that raw talent is an advantage that a person has in their genetics, however skill is something that is developed with hours and hours of work. In my opinion, it is not fair to tell someone that they are not talented or that they cannot succeed. I think the only unrealistic goals for an individual are those that the individual believes and makes unrealistic. The Law of Attraction states: “Focusing on positive or negative thoughts can cause positive or negative results. People and their thoughts are both made of pure energy, and like energy attracts like energy” (Law of Attraction). Ultimately, talent is not crucial to success. Therefore, if an individual's mindset is determined to succeed, they will succeed. However, continued skill development and hard work are required to succeed..
