Essay / Vitality to Discourage Gender Quotas - 1406
White-collar workers were dominated by men since the dawn of the work era. However, as time passes, women flock to join these workers all over the world. Long gone are the days when the majority of women found themselves in the kitchen cooking for their wayward husbands while waiting for their husbands to return from work. Very quickly, gender equality became a fundamental human right. On top of this, some governments, particularly the European government, have gone too far by imposing an unnecessary system of quotas for high-level jobs reserved exclusively for women, without taking into account their qualifications; thus affirming that it is capable of creating a level of equality for men and women. However, this imposed a new challenge on young workers, as their chances of promotion would be given to a woman. It is therefore of utmost importance that the government does not unnecessarily reserve a percentage of high-level jobs for women. Although these quotas are believed to be a solution to the shortage of women, the number of their disadvantages clearly outweighs their advantages, as employment of high-level jobs should be based on equality with equal chances of opportunity. employment, and imposing these quotas will ultimately compromise the quality of work due to the difference in personality and composition between men and women, and the lack of support for quotas, with some women themselves simply not wanting to that quotas are applied. It is not surprising that the reservation of quotas for high-level employment of women is due to the obvious lack of women in these fields compared to men. By introducing this quota system, we will get a diverse and equal number of women and men at the highest level, because it will be necessary to practice quickly and directly...... middle of paper ...... of both sexes , and the different personalities of many women make them unsuitable for this position and the unwelcome acceptance of the quota system by women themselves. Equality should not be imposed on individuals, whether in education or family life. Instead, equality can only be achieved when those who are qualified enough get these top jobs, regardless of their gender. There is also no point in giving high-level positions to unqualified women, as this will deteriorate the company's performance in the long term (or short term). The opinions of many women challenging gender quotas have also proven that gender quotas by themselves are not the best choice for balancing the number of men and women at the top. It is therefore wise for the government to opt for other solutions in order to balance gender equality than the application of quotas..
