Essay / NBA athletes are overpaid - 1342
As a basketball fan, the NBA has always been the center of every discussion I participate in whenever basketball is involved. Since its inception in the late 1970s and the popularity of the American National Basketball Association, basketball has become one of the most iconic games played today. Whether a fan or enthusiast watches the game live or in replay, the high-voltage intensity and addictive thrill of every turnover and score made drives the person crazy. Of course, every game, some people often wonder how much money players have each season. I'm one of those people who often think about how rich these players are and the more I see commercials and high-profile appearances these players participate in, the question keeps popping up in my head. Looking through discussion forums, articles, and even editorials on the subject, I found it to be an interesting topic to discuss, and with these sources in mind, this will be my basis for this topic. In this article, I intend to prove through intimate discussion and debate that NBA players are overpaid when it comes to the value of their salaries and contracts. For this article, the discussion will take place in four parts. Part one will introduce readers to the basketball fever that the NBA has brought to millions around the world and a brief overview of the debate over overpaid athletes and pay cuts. Part two will discuss the argument that NBA athletes are not overpaid, while its subsections will highlight three pieces of evidence for this. Part three will discuss this paper's position that NBA athletes are indeed overpaid and its subsections will refute the claims raised in the middle of the paper......ation due to the lack of official research and basis in this regard. However, as far as things go, I have seen that the argument leans towards the fact that they are indeed overpaid despite arguments to the contrary. Regardless, the association and the players themselves need to find common ground on how to overhaul the NBA's current salary system so that it works effectively. Writers who wish to address this topic should include in their work a comparative chart from the beginning of the association to the present to see the trend of salary increases by season. It is important to see how much the salary increases each year because this can determine similarities and also prove irregularities in the system. Writers can also consider the association's current actions regarding the topic, as this can help form an opinion on the argument..
