    It is essential that integrated health professionals (IHPs) understand what human rights are and act consciously to uphold them. In this essay, I will describe a personal experience in which human rights were violated and draw on my thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in response to this incident. Human Rights, Bill of Rights and Patient Bill of Rights: Human rights are the fundamental demands. to which everyone is entitled because they are human. They serve to satisfy the basic needs of each individual and encompass how everyone deserves to be treated as human beings. Human rights are universally applicable, regardless of your nationality or culture and aim to protect vulnerable people. They describe the standards and principles that should be applied by governments and for which governments should be held accountable. Human rights are interdependent and work together to ensure the dignity of every human being. These human rights come with responsibilities and limitations that ensure that you respect the rights of others and protect human rights. (p. 74) The right to health that applies specifically to IHPs focuses on realizing each individual's optimal health potential by providing opportunities. The Bill of Rights is incorporated into the South African Constitution and is the foundation of democracy. It embraces our rights and, in doing so, upholds the fundamental values ​​of our democracy, including equality and freedom and human dignity. In my future as an IHP, it is essential that I reflect on my knowledge of human rights in order to prevent any violation of these rights and identify areas in which I can improve.
