While the vast majority of images of women are digitally enhanced, so too is our appreciation of what is normal, healthy, beautiful and accessible. Photoshop has gone beyond the boundaries of how images look, so much so that it negatively affects vulnerable children and teenagers with low self-esteem issues. A major rationale for why people experience serious issues with their bodies, such as self-esteem and eating disorders, is due to the media. Media plays a huge role in our daily lives, and when a person sees an image, they are automatically influenced by what that image represents. Digital photo manipulation is a staple tool for almost every print, web, and digital designer. whether it's something they like, like a product, or something negative and they don't like looking at it. People see all kinds of images and these can be influenced unconsciously. Viewers want to look like magazine models, but in reality, the girls in those magazines are photoshopped to correct their own flaws. Everyone is unique in their own way and people should be willing to accept that because 43% of women in the United States are influenced to change themselves because of what the media presents to the public. In the fashion world, the media has created a standard for what beauty should be, which can give viewers the wrong perception of beauty and ruin their own self-image; the public needs to become aware of what the fashion industry is doing and make a change. Ruining the perception of beauty is something that we, the viewers, can solve by educating ourselves on this topic. The process of Photoshopping an image is very simple.
