  • Essay / Abortion Rebuttal: There is no excuse for an abortion

There are many things in this world that are expensive. Many people will agree that raising children is one of them. Children need food, shelter, medical insurance and clothing. This is still no excuse for abortion. There are several government and non-government funded agencies and funding available to help families who may be struggling to provide for their family. There are several options, such as welfare, instant benefit programs, food banks, thrift stores and many others, that help ease the stressful financial burden of raising children. There are programs like Medicaid, which provide health coverage to people earning less than a certain income, which differs from state to state. There is also a CHIP (Children's Health Care and Insurance) program that provides coverage to nearly 8 million children from families whose incomes are too high to qualify for Medicaid, but who cannot afford coverage ( Medicaid.gov.). Between Medicaid and CHIP program coverage is provided to more than 45 million children in the United States. (Medicaid.gov). All children involved in the Medicaid and CHIP programs are eligible for comprehensive medical plans. (Children from Medicad.gov) Medical care is a major expense for some families. Medicaid and CHIP cover many children, but for some who don't qualify, there is also Obamacare, which is supposed to be an affordable health care system for Americans. There are also local clinics that will see patients for little or nothing if individuals do not have insurance. There are also food assistance programs. Snap is a program that aims to end hunger and improve nutrition by providing monthly benefits to eligible low-income households to help them purchase the food they need for good health, (benefits, gov SNAP) The...... middle of paper ...... they are. I still maintain that a life is a life, regardless of their physical limitations. There are children of all ages who live with these means but does this make them less human? Does killing the disabled or curing their condition? Absolutely not. C. Everett Koop, pediatric surgeon, says: "Some of the most unhappy children have full physical and mental faculties, while some of the happiest young people have carried burdens that most of us would find very difficult to bear." . /www.benefits.gov/benefits/benefit-details/1578http://medicaid.gov/CHIP/CHIP-Program-Information.htmlhttp://medicaid.gov/Medicaid-CHIP-Program-Information/Medicaid-and-CHIP -Program-Information.htmlhttps://www.cfda.gov/index?s=program&mode=form&tab=core&id=2225059406dd5508834cde454b3e63b4http://www.feedingal.org/teenpregnancies.org
