  • Essay / Analysis of four different anthropological projects...

I have chosen four different anthropological projects around the world in which I think it would be better for the Conservatory of Archeology to protect them. I classified these different projects according to the quality of the work, the potential for public use, the threatened nature and the heritage importance. I first looked at the Mosfell archaeological project in Iceland. This area will paint a vivid picture of human and environmental change in the southwest of Ireland. The aim of this project is to discover the prehistory and early history of the Mosfell region. I also studied the Pylos regional archaeological project. This project began in 1990 to study prehistoric settlements in western Messinia, Greece. The Yaxuna Project caught my attention because the project takes place in Yucatan, Mexico and I am Mexican. The main concern of this project is to learn more about the Mayan culture and way of life. My final site that I would like to protect is Jamestown Rediscovery. This project is based in Virginia, the first known English colony in North America. Excavations began in 1994 and so far many objects have been discovered. The goal of my research is to enable the Archeology Conservancy, based in New Mexico, to help continue these projects. The Mosfell project has set goals that it would like to achieve. The main objective of Mosfell is to recover the prehistoric and historical artifacts of this region. They seek to understand in more depth how this area has evolved from its earliest form. The archaeologists involved have very specific and achievable long-term goals. The data they found is presented in a diary-style documentation in which they document each individual year of excavation. The only details they provide about the excavations...... middle of paper ......wn from English people from North America and students who want to learn excavation techniques. The purpose of the website is to encourage visits in order to obtain monetary funds for their further searches. They answered where he was, which raised even more questions. Fortunately, this project doesn't worry about protecting the artifacts found along the way. Works cited by Byock, J. and Zori, D. (nd). Mosfell Archaeological Project (MAP).
