IntroductionIt has been difficult to find the right approach to follow in a research study, and this semester is more of an eye-opener that reveals the expected ways to conduct research which has been a very interesting and difficult process. Dudley (2011), at least four main search strategies are available for locating references related to chosen topics: (1) consultation, (2) subject index searches, (3) navigation, and (4) searching footnotes. The researcher must be aware of all these information gathering strategies. Question 1: What have you learned about research? Social work? Yourself? According to Dudley (2016), research tools help us define the concepts we use in social work. As a social worker, one cannot understand how knowledge from research works impacts the profession. All intervention and diagnostic plans related to client needs, as well as some research work that provides accurate information about the population and this awareness allows social workers to feel relaxed knowing they have other sources that may be vital in providing assistance to their customers. Additionally, research work helps the social worker check whether their intuition regarding a situation is correct, researching their conclusions to see responsibility for the outcome. Without the knowledge from previous research, it will be difficult for the social work profession to have ideas about what type of intervention methods to use, since the profession responds to different client needs. But with some research work, they have adequate means to help clients intervene. Although the mixed method of collecting information is good, I need to understand the procedure and technique required to obtain the final results. Additionally, I will need to have a target timeline on how the research study can be carried out, which should be done more realistically by focusing on research topics that fit the study. Separate my findings from different ethnic groups as to their views on violent intimate relationships, avoiding generalizing the opinion of research participants, investigate and observe both first-hand and second-hand through examination external and internal factors.
