Americans believe that illegal immigrants are parasites who come to the United States to use our social services. Let us define social services as “organized social efforts carried out under professional auspices by qualified personnel (dictionary.com, 2011, para.1)”. Examples of social services are government-subsidized housing and public housing, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), food stamps/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid and Medicare, and Social Security payments for eligible elderly, disabled, and children. of the deceased, etc. Illegal immigrants cannot benefit from these social services because they do not have a social security number. Illegal immigrants contribute to the United States economy; Furthermore, so that Americans do not pay too much money for food or goods, they take jobs for less money and the health care they receive is minimal. It's easy for people to pass judgment without knowing the facts; our government lets our citizens know what is right for them during an election period, but we must do our own research before we can pass a sentence. About a year ago, a colleague made a statement: "All these illegal immigrants are putting in their Form W-2s saying they have six kids, so they don't pay taxes!" People think that illegal immigrants don't pay taxes; moreover, they constitute a brake on the economy of this country. However, the truth is that American businesses love illegal immigrants because to them, it's new money. These people are debt-free individuals, unlike American citizens. Companies such as banks, insurers, credit card companies, telephone carriers and mortgage lenders have reached out to this rapidly growing population.
