  • Essay / Leadership Theme in Acts - 1087

One of the most important themes in Acts is leadership. Throughout the book of Acts, two important characters reveal the theme of leadership. These two characters are Peter and Paul in whom, throughout the twenty-eight books, they become the leaders of God's people. Peter is described as a leader at the beginning of the book. When Judas betrays Jesus in Acts chapter 1, Peter steps in and takes matters into his own hands. “For,” said Peter, “it is written in the book of Psalms: “Let his place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell there” and ““Let another take his place as ruler” (Acts 1:20). He had great courage to step up and lead God's people, even after the tragic loss of Judas. God most certainly used Peter to perform his miracles. He was called by the Lord to preach his miracles and his truth. Through Peter and the Church, God's work of bringing wholeness and salvation has been accomplished. God worked greatly through his disciples. The theme of leadership is evident throughout Acts. Paul and Peter were remarkable leaders who continued to contribute to the early Church even during times of persecution, sin, and conflict. Peter shows his leadership in Acts chapter three, verses seventeen through twenty: “Now, brothers of Israel, I know that you acted in ignorance, just like your leaders. But this is how God fulfilled what he had predicted through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer. Repent therefore and turn to God, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you, Jesus. how peter was a leader and how great a leader he was to talk to the viewers about leadership in middle of paper......also leadership. A leader is anyone who sows seeds with God that will grow that person into someone He will raise up. The reason I chose leadership for this assignment is because upon reading the text three times throughout the semester, leading was the most obvious to me. Me. Through Paul and Peter and the other apostles they showed the greatest leadership where my information came from. They were known for spreading the Word of God to all of God's people. They performed miracles and they could not have done it without the Holy Spirit working in them. The theme of leadership also struck me, because I too feel a calling to be a leader. As someone who is a business expert and wants to one day own my own business, I will lead. The book of Acts is almost like a guide to spiritual leadership in which all Christians should consider.
