In the film “Diary of a Black Woman”, Helen is a dark woman, very chic and elegant. Hélène is a rather well-bred, well-dressed woman. Helen has all the dollars she could want in the world, but yet she doesn't have a bit of happiness even if she wants it. Throughout the love experience, Hélène's personality changes; from a warm and gentle woman to a cold-hearted and hard woman with a broken heart. Helen comes from a very low class family and community. Helen's family is known as what we call "the ghetto", even though they don't have wealth, they have a big heart that brings them together happily. Helen was so dependent on a love of faith that failed her. Helen never really got far in her studies because she had everything with Charles. Charles lost interest in Helen, but she was blindfolded to see that his happiness did not exist. Charles had an affair during their marriage with a light-skinned woman who is the mother of his two children. The woman had more power over Helen's feelings because Charles realized that his children needed him. Charles left Helen with nothing much to do, kicking her out....
