Essay / Renovating My Foreclosed Property - 1200
If I could acquire $150,000 in cash in order to repair and revamp a distressed foreclosure property, I believe I would be able to update and renovate the house way this would increase the value of the property tenfold. I was fortunate to be born into a family that has inherent knowledge about how to repair and what to do. My father is a sculptor and has several tools and machines that I could rent at a much lower rate than a hardware store like Home Depot or Lowe's. My mother is a broker who could tell me which inspectors to turn to for advice, and she could also help me get the best results for the least amount of money. My older brother was my father's apprentice forever. He traveled with my father to foreign countries to help with my father's art installations and also took up sculpture on his own. My father and brother have taken welding courses and have them in addition to the extensive construction knowledge that my father began his career with. My other brother also worked for my father, in addition to working full time at a hardware store as a manager. He has now started to be a handyman for a few duplexes and has been able to start and complete small scale renovation projects that have come his way. To begin renovating my foreclosed property, I would begin with a complete inspection of the property to properly assess the ultimate needs of the property as well as other cosmetic fixes that I may possibly correct. After completing the invasive inspection, I would then sit down with my renovation team to determine what needs to be done first. Luckily I have two brothers...... middle of paper ...... go to Home Depot and look in the clearance paint sections because a lot of people like to return paints and I could buy them for 1 / 3 the cost of purchasing new paint. I wouldn't be able to buy an excess of paint, but it would at least cover the bathrooms, and possibly the kitchen. I would paint the rooms myself to try to cut down on the costs of hiring painters. I have been painting since I can remember, I have been involved in construction sites so I understand all the steps to properly painting a house. I think the longest part of the renovation would be making the yards up to par and as green as I would like. With all of this in mind, I think the renovation could be completed in a month and a half, if everything goes according to plan and nothing is delayed due to mail or travel time..
