When you hear the word enslaved, what do you think of? We usually associate the word enslaved with slaves from the 1800s. We never really think of ourselves as slaves. Sure, we may not be physically enslaved, but we are mentally enslaved. We have become slaves to brands, but we rarely notice it because consumerism is so prevalent in today's society. Consumerism is the theory that increasing consumption of goods is economically desirable. Consumerism has corrupted today's society. We are so attached to brands and products that if we don't get what we want, we get upset. Some people are so upset that they are willing to steal or kill for the thing they want so badly. This is an extreme case, but it gets the point across. The point is that we need to stop being so attached to things. The brands that control the products make limited quantities of things we all want, so people will be forced to spend a lot of money. We spend so much money on things that we think will be sold out forever, but in reality they will return to the shelves later. In today's society, if you don't have...
