The world's religions differ fundamentally on elements of faith and ritual. Thus, when the sun shines on interfaith divisions, rain is not necessary to cause interfaith conflict (Andre, Can Interfaith Relations Work?). What do you do if you or your partner take your religion more seriously? said Stephen Prothero (Prothero, Take Religious Differences Seriously). Interfaith marriages are those between individuals of diverse religious beliefs. Some spouses have a very limited association with their religion; for others, religion is at the center of their lives. Some spouses see the value of religions other than their own. While on some occasions they may consider another religion as a form of Satanism. "Everyone comes from a different perspective than their partner. If you're not siblings, it's an intermarriage," said Nora Rubel (Rubel, How to Make Interfaith Relationships Work). There are many changes and modifications a partner can make to their life in order to live harmoniously in an interfaith relationship. Communication is the solution to any relationship. Therefore, a couple worships either separately or together. They might by all means stop visiting their holy place to avoid religious conflicts within their marriage. This has the advantage of reducing conflicts linked to differences in religious culture. Although it might not be worth it. Rather, there are ways to merge traditions by taking the time to learn about each other's religious traditions (Dadlani, Interfaith Marriages: Celebrating Diversity). Belonging to a faith group may be such a necessary part of one or both spouses' religiosity that it cannot be removed for long.
