Max grew up poor and Caroline grew up rich, but her father was set up in a scheme and so now she is also poor and broke. In this series for example, the one I find most offensive is Han Lee's personality and characteristics. The show is about him owning a restaurant and Max and Caroline are the waitresses who work there. He consistently misunderstands American culture, is obsessed with work and is short, speaks broken English, and is asexual. And not only does the character have all these stereotypes, but he is then ridiculed by the characters because of these classifications. Additionally, except that he is Asian, the character is not given any depth or understanding and no mention is given to his person's background, tradition, or birthright. Another example, besides the hurtful Asian character, is the character named Oleg who plays a stereotype which is that of an Eastern European. He's obsessed with sex, dresses horribly, and communicates as if he's doing a bad impersonation and impression. Another example of specificity is that the show doesn't seem to settle for shallow and exaggerated depictions of the characters, they also say hurtful things. In a fourth season episode, Han told the other characters that he was talking to an Australian girl, online saying, "She's
