Malcolm famous for motivating black communities to push for their civil rights. Malcolm X was a radical and an advocate of violence. The purpose of Malcolm X's speech was to convince his audience and the black community to unite and fight for their civil rights in America. He also convinces his audience to be more aware of how the government treats them. Malcolm X uses ethos, pathos, and logos throughout his speech to convey his message to his audience. Malcolm Rather, Malcolm X's approach was to use violence to force the government to grant blacks their civil rights if it refused to do so. It is “liberty or death” (Malcolm X). “Today it's time to stop singing and start swinging. You cannot sing of freedom, but you can boast of a certain freedom” (Malcolm X). Malcolm Malcolm X used several methods to annoy his audience. He used strong pathos as an emotional appeal in his speech to grab the attention of his audience. Its appeal worked on its audience because it was predominantly black. In his emotional argument, he explained how black people have been deceived, misled and disillusioned. “He tricked you into walking to Washington.
