    The objective of the study is to prepare the 20 year tourism plan and policy for sustainable development of tourism in Assam. Sustainable development of tourism in the State will lead to the following achievements:  Meeting the needs of tourists and host regions while protecting opportunities for the future.  Satisfy the demands of tourists and the tourism industry, and continue to attract them to meet the first objective. Increase the market share of inbound tourism of Assam. Properly promote and develop sustainable tourism of the Assam. the beneficiaries and not the victims of tourism development. Create a long-term human resources development program to enable the local population to benefit from the opportunities offered by tourism development. Promote the adequate and comprehensive development of infrastructure responding to international standards, improve the quality of tourism products to meet the new demands of tourists. Create awareness among the people about the importance of Assam tourism as well as Assam tea tourism. Make tourism an important tool for the socio-economic development of the State. of Assam. (5.3) TOURISM TOURS FOCUS ON THE STRENGTH OF TOURISM ATTRACTIONS OF ASSAM:  WILDLIFE TOURISM: Assam has a great diversity of wildlife, such as the Indian one-horned rhino. Both Kaziranga National Park and Manas National Park are World National Heritage Sites as well as Tiger Reserves. (5.5) ASSAM TOURISM TO DEVELOP VAISHNAVITE CIRCUIT The Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) is planning to develop a Vaishnavite circuit to showcase the rich cultural and religious heritage of the state. The tour would feature places related to the lives of Srimanta Sankardev and Madhabdev besides the famous sattras. The ATDC clarified that the initial phase of the project would cover three sites, namely Bardowa in Nagaon, Narayanpur in Lakhimpur and Jamugiri in Sonitpur, as the above-mentioned sites are the centers of Vaishnavite culture. The state is allocated Rs. 8 crore by the central government for the development of the project.
