    The art of water sculpturePart 1: My questionsFor my I-Search project, I chose to learn to sculpt with a new medium clay to widen my “tool belt”; the profiles I make would be a good reference for drawing and would also help me gain experience and sculpt figurines in polymer clay. I would also learn the anatomy of the male and female face and head. I'm going to try to create a male head because I'm terrible at drawing and sculpting men. This is related to the research topic because I am sculpting a man's head with water-based clay. What I do know about this subject is that it requires time, knowledge, and air-dried clay. Tools are recommended, but not necessary, depending on the scale of the silhouette. What I want to focus on and what I want to discover is how to shape and sculpt the eyes because they are the most important part of the face - they show the most emotion, and as most romantics would say, “they are the window to the soul”.
