    Human Resources Challenges: Current and Future IssuesAccording to the author, human resources are the “practices and policies necessary to carry out the personal aspects of a managerial job” ( Dessler, 2011, p.2). Typically, human resources focuses on state and federal laws as well as business responsibilities such as benefits and payroll, as well as hiring or firing employees. In addition to focusing on a company's workforce, the HR manager works in cohesion with other members of management. Usually, collaborations with other managers lead to the development of strategic planning for the formation or advancement of company goals. Current Human Resource Challenges In the past, HR job responsibilities consisted of a basic role of looking after employees and administrative tasks. For example, human resources managers were primarily focused on calculating workers' personal and sick days and payroll. However, times have changed, many HR specialists have different roles to fill and different departments to manage. Usually, these individuals must balance their enthusiasm for the workforce and for the organization that is their employer. However, when new challenges arise and organizations need to implement new programs or procedures, the human resources manager is the first to lead the way for change. Some of the current challenges facing HR are human resource effectiveness, leadership development and organizational change management. . The first challenge of an HR professional is managing organizational change. Organizational change is a process in which an organization undergoes a transition or transformation.
