Essay / Ignorance and Bad Leadership in Lord of the Flies by...
Society is based on hierarchy which is the basis of change that people have in society. Sometimes it’s good and other times…. Well, it's not so good. In many ways, leadership defines the outcome of a certain society. A good leader with good intentions, leading the company in the right direction is bound to be beneficial and maintain a philosophy that will stay with him for the rest of his life. But there are others who are too ignorant and become less and less what they hoped to be. Lord of the Flies by William Golding is a great example. Golding argues that where there is a gain of power with bad leadership, there is a loss of identity. In Lord of the Flies, some boys arrive on a plane after it crashed due to a war that was taking place at the time of the plane crash. The basic synopsis is that they are trying to be saved. The boys remember after being separated. There are also no adults on the island. During their time on the island, many of the boys had changed. Especially Jack... He's an altar boy who wanted to be a choir director. His radical change from altar boy to savage sets the stage for a loss of identity. He remains in competition with Ralph for leadership over the boys. At first, Jack is overthrown as leader when Ralph is elected by a group vote consisting of all the boys. His main job was as a hunter assigned by Ralph. When Jack goes hunting, he spots a pig. It catches up with him and almost kills me... middle of paper... in a healthy way... It seems no matter what we try to do, we are always exploited by bad leadership and bad results. direction. It could be as bad as Jack with his tribe, or even worse with bloodthirsty people like Robert. But we can never escape it. Percival wasn't adjusting to the world, so he fell apart. As a society we need to find a happy medium where we can have a good leader while still adapting to the bad things society shows us. If we go too far in power, we become different people. We become... less than we were before, if we try to contain leadership to absolutely zero levels. We become too innocent and afraid of what society really is. We can't really change society to shape it on our own, so we do it by adapting and trying to pave the way for future generations to understand the world we currently live in..
