  • Essay / The new side of news media - 1056

“Everything is not known according to itself, but according to the ability of the one who knows it”- Boethius. Journalists know everything about a topic and have many ways to present their information to the public. People do not realize that their opinions are influenced by media reports, since no one warned them. These journalists are often called "the fourth branch of government" (Gabbs) because of their actions. The media are responsible for conveying opinions through their reporting, which does not allow the individual to analyze a situation to form their own opinion; they are therefore harmful to American society. Many news sources include their opinions through a simple story-making technique. Most stories are created in parallel to save time, which increases the chances of producing a hyperbolic story. Ms. Sherman and Mr. Peabody lucidly explain to the media a secret supply and demand problem. There is a huge demand for up-to-date information, but a limited supply of current information; and to fill this gap, the media create information. Recently a Malaysian Airlines plane went missing (Flight 370) and CNN and Fox News went overboard talking about the illogical theories put forward by bloggers about where the plane might be. The people already specialized in this field had better Rama 2 equipment than the media, the media's job was not to determine where the plane was but to report the progress being made in finding the plane. The problem that ends up happening is when people can't realize the severity of a problem because of everything that has been created. When someone repeatedly announces a breaking news story, the situation begins to lose its value. Another problem with creating information is the...... middle of paper ......tewart, John. “The Strange Case of Flight 370.” - The daily broadcast. Np, March 24. 2014. Internet. May 11, 2014.
