They gain the citizen and have their home during this time. Unfortunately, this was not true. Many immigrants came to America; they just received low pay and hard work. Many people worked more than twelve hours without rest. Most of them died for work (Discussion 9). According to Howard Zinn, “When it was all over, 146 Triangle workers, most of them women, were burned or crushed to death” (A People's History of the United States). This is just one case among many: people died because of this accident. They couldn't escape because the company knocked on the door for them to continue working hard. In other words, they had a chance to survive, but the factory destroyed that hope. During World War II, I learned that Americans began to join the war because Japan attacked the American Pearl Harbor. And most of the Jews were killed during this war. Through the thirteenth discussion, I knew that Asians and Africans were also attacked. I also discovered that the violent Vietnam War was not the necessary war, even though it was started by the United States.
