Essay / What does it mean to be an individual? - 865
I fear this is more of a long question than an answer. What exactly does it mean to be an individual? Or are we even individuals? I guess what we mean when we say we are individual is that we have individual thoughts, because in reality our actions throughout our lives are far from individual or unique. This may seem like it, but in reality it is not. If this is true, then we rarely bring out our individualism, if what we see is not individual. We think of ourselves as more individual than an ant, for example, but then is it possible that they are a thing that would classify as more individual than an ant. us, and if so, how would this thing be different and what would make it more individual? I said before that maybe only our thoughts are individual, but is that really true? Our thoughts are usually there to perform a certain action, even if it is the stupidest action. Take for example the fear of spiders. I guess it's not really silly, but it fulfills the action of protecting someone from what they see as danger. Our thoughts may be slightly different, as are our personalities, but they don't really seem to perform the same task, the highest being survival. Obviously this is a broad view, but since our thoughts generally lead to the same goal, it is only the slight difference in our thoughts to achieve the goal that makes us individual, and if that is the case, are we really that individual since ultimately our "Individual thoughts lead to the same thing? Since it is our actions that allow us to interact with others, such as in sports or other things, can -maybe our individual side is alone, far from others and only in our own thoughts This may not be totally true since we can share our thoughts, but seen from above, let's say d. From a worldly point of view, it is then just a sharing of opinions, with many different means achieving the same goal, getting closer to each other through interaction and the expression of individualism; Another example of this is any type of art, whether it is music, painting, poetry or any other type. This sort of thing is considered by some to be the greatest display of a person's individuality, as they may think that every brushstroke in a painting shows a part of your personality..
