Essay / Applying Reflections in Learning - 1473
Applying ReflectionReflection is a crucial part of the learning process and is necessary for effective learning and teaching. As a student, you should use reflective practice to better understand how you learn, as well as what was good and bad about previous work, in order to improve the quality of future work. Reflective practice from an educator's perspective requires examining what worked and what did not work with the lessons and the classroom. In both cases, reflection is a form of self-awareness. Learners who use reflective practice are better able to understand themselves and the learning process. Being able to reflect can enrich one's learning and deeper realizations. Rogers observes: “Reflection on experience and action constitutes a large part of the learning process” (1996, p. 109). The reflective process allows a practitioner to evaluate, identify, and gain knowledge through experience, thereby fostering possible improvement and transformation. not only in the class, but also in the individual who participates in the reflection. The process of reflection is a positive action that allows one to review, analyze and evaluate in order to develop as a learner and teacher. The ability to reflect on practice helps to assess needs and plan to meet them, thereby enriching teaching and learning skills. This article will provide an overview of the experiences I have had using reflective practice: first from the perspective of a student, then later as an educator.Student ReflectionAs a high school student , I did not participate in the reflection practice at any point. deep and deep level. The biggest thought that happened was what grade did I get and how did I miss that number. I remember one time... in the middle of the article... open communication and collaboration environment” (Osterman and Kottkamp, 2004, p. 182). An educator must be able to trust colleagues to express their thoughts in a positive manner, which will advance teaching methods. Teaching and learning is a symbiotic relationship in which one cannot teach without learning. Reflective practices enable a teacher to become a learner. Although I have always said that all good teaching is learning, I have never experienced philosophy. I was a good learner and a good educator. I only became a greater learner and a greater educator when I combined the two and truly understood the quote. As an educator, it is important to allow learners to express themselves in class according to their needs and styles. Learners play a vital role in the teaching process, not only as a body filling a room, but also as actively engaged partners in the process..
