    Institutionalized racism is a system that discriminates against people of different races, education, or income levels. (Rusciano, 2013) For example, some residential communities do not allow African Americans to reside in the same community. Rules and regulations are written and must be agreed upon between employees and the residence. Another example is the institutionalized system within the healthcare system. Minorities living in poverty do not have access to health care or medical treatment. “Racial inequality in health care persists in the United States because laws prohibiting racial discrimination are inadequate to address problems of institutional racial discrimination. » (Randal, 2010) Second, minorities will continue to live in poverty and will not have the opportunity to access health care due to their limited education. For example, minorities who currently live in poor communities will most likely find themselves near the same community, which also provides poor education. Additionally, less educated minorities will also experience economic inequality, such as low-income employment. Due to the existence of institutionalized racism, minorities will continue to experience a race of inequality
